ROLE SUMMARY:
Interested in financial markets? If you enjoy modelling, building budgets and forecasts, management reporting and analysing results, this could be your next role! Reporting to the Director, Divisional Financial Controller, you will look after all aspects of reporting and analytics for LSEG's prestigious capital markets entities including the London Stock Exchange PLC and the Turquoise Group. The reports which you will look after will be used to support submissions to boards of directors, regulators and external LSEG shareholders. The ability to work accurately and deliver to agreed timelines is important.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Production of legal entity management reporting packs on a monthly and quarterly basis including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow statements, charts, commentary, and insight.
- Budget preparation including:
- Review and challenge budget files loaded by other teams.
- Investigate and understand year-on-year variances versus prior year.
- Create and control budget load files.
- Drive completion of the budget to the agree timeline.
- Support the production of management budget report packs including commentary and commercial insights.
- Work closely with the Entity Accountants, Business Partners and other teams to support the month end accounting process.
- Carefully review the ledger, income statements and balance sheets during the month end cycle.
- Investigate large or unexpected variances to budget, forecast and expectations.
- Develop a deep understanding of the drivers behind monthly costs and revenue.
- Partner the financial control team, challenge, and drive resolution of incorrect ledger entries.
- Support the Financial Control team with the external audit and respond swiftly to queries.
- Ensure that workbooks and models are neat, thoroughly understood, contain control totals and are structured in a logical way.
- Automate workbooks by linking formulas to the cover sheet and / or embedded data sheets and using formulas to automate as far as feasible. Avoiding hard coded values where possible.
- Improve control over workbooks and reports. Find faster, more efficient methods of preparation.
- Support the annual business and operating risk stress-testing modelling in Microsoft Excel.
- Bring resilience to your role by building and maintain excellent catalogue of standard operating procedures and timetables.
- Grow an in-depth knowledge of the chart of accounts, ledger string coding, finance systems such as Essbase, HFM and Oracle Fusion.
- Group financial controllership team.
- Capital Markets Finance Business Partnering team.
- Central FP&A team.
- Wider controllership function especially group policy and consolidations and compliance.
- Offshore Centre of Excellence teams in India and Sri Lanka.
- External and internal auditors.
- Group Tax.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Tenacious. Ability to identify, chase down issues and follow through to conclusion.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar) / Degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 - 5 years PQE.
- Strong stakeholder management track record.
- Experience producing Management Reporting packs including preparation of income statements, balance sheets and cashflows.
- Excel modelling, optimisation and control experience.
- Experience with charts, writing commentary and reporting in PowerPoint and MS Word.
- Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
- Experience in Oracle / Oracle Fusion, Hyperion systems will be an added advantage.
- Background in financial services or capital markets.
- Experience with Blackline, Oracle, Hyperion and Essbase Systems is desirable.
