Applies business requirements and knowledge of software development lifecycles to design, produce and guide the development of complex software solutions.
Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
- Demonstrates significant knowledge of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation
- Advances tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required
- Handles own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
- Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and is regarded as the SME in their domain. Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies
- Understands the tech strategy and culture, and how they impact own work as well as adjacent teams
- Oversees the design work and planning for user journeys ensuring the achieve the desired objectives
- Supports the creation of solutions for Epics and the associated implementation tasks
- Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
- Develops understanding of LSEG's commercial direction and how technology is forming a part of this
- Completes the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight
- Builds strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders, growing network and collaborating with own team and colleagues in other domains. Communicates complex information clearly to relevant audiences
- Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional qualification or equivalent
- Significant knowledge of at least one programming language
- Moderate experience in a Software development and delivery role
- Moderate experience of multiple development technologies and knowledge of when patterns are appropriate and solutions are anti-patterns
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance
- Some stakeholder management experience.

Key Functions and Responsibilities
As a SQL Specialist in Index Technology the individual will be responsible for data modelling, optimisation and business intelligence reporting in Power BI. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business collaborators to gain deep understanding of complex user journeys, workflows and data interactions involved in the Index business lifecycle to craft outstanding user interfaces using modern UI technologies.
This role reports to the Engineering Lead and will work with both internal and external index business collaborators and various technology teams involving UI engineers/developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.

You will be a self-starter who will be part of an empowered agile team working on key Index Platforms which adopts cutting edge technologies and AWS cloud-native architecture.

Role Responsibilities- Responsible for proactively managing the current and future capacity of the platforms
- Develop process and procedures to perform current volume assessment and forecasting
- Have a good understanding of managing costs for production systems and recommend efficiencies
- Implements new/improved software development processes and best practices, as required by group or departmental Heads
- Ensures the developer community has the technical skills required to deliver in-line with long-term plans
- Contribute to the CI/CD development
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server and Business Intelligence tools like Power Bi, Tableau
- Strong experience in database development in SQL Server along with optimizations is a must-have
- Prior experience of integrating Power BI with multiple platforms using REST API, integrating into Angular UIs etc is required
- Significant experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery
- Extensive experience in CI\CD tools & automation required
- Good experience in multi-tier solutions required
- Good experience in AWS or Azure preferred
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Quality Assurance, Delivery Management, and/or Emerging Technology and Governance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Financial markets experience
