This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Performance Reporting Specialist / Finance Business Partner to join QBE on a permanent basis. As a key team member of the AusPac Reporting and Planning Team, this role will support senior stakeholders to make financially sound decisions based on best-practice advice and recommendations. This role will prepare, consolidate and provide accurate, efficient management reporting and insightful financial support to executive stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and have a particular focus on cost base consolidation, reporting and management.

Within this role, you'll be working with a team and organisation in which there is significant buy-in and willpower with the stakeholders you'll be seeking to influence.

On a regular basis, this role will see you:
  • Be actively involved in the monthly management and Group performance reporting and other ad hoc reporting routines, ensuring timely, accurate and properly supported calculations, financial analysis and commentary.
  • Particularly focused across the large expense-based business including consolidation, reporting, analysing actuals, planning and forecasting.
  • Support the divisional performance reporting process including coordination, collaboration and engaging stakeholders, consolidating and providing insightful information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the business to provide relevant, informed advice supported by timely, accurate financial analysis and commentary.
  • Support to analyze financial data and create models/presentations for decision support.
  • Assist the Head of Reporting & Planning, and the GM Financial Performance with various decision support analytics.
  • Support collaboration efforts with cross functional teams to address and resolve challenges.
  • Identify and initiate automation/enhancements of system / process capabilities to help deliver future outlook models and reporting capability and uplift the team's productivity and value.
About you

You're a well-versed senior FP&A professional with relevant qualifications (including CA/CPA) and demonstrated success consulting on financials within the insurance sector, with at least 10 years' experience in a management accounting and performance reporting role. You have a superior ability in analysing and synthesizing data, as well as demonstrated ability to present insights to and provide support across senior management structures.

You have a strong capability to interpret information to understand future impacts, whilst remaining curious and adaptable to change as the environment shifts. Your interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are second to none, with an innate ability to influence and provide advice, guidance and recommendations to senior leaders at the highest level of the organisation, providing advice that is backed by data and underpinned by commercial savviness. You are a self-starter with a natural curiosity and keen interest on uplifting reporting and analysis capabilities, may it be through improving processes or leveraging technology.
