Group Finance

The Reporting, Controls and FSS Team forms part of the wider Group Finance Team and is responsible for the provision of statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, and accounting and finance service functions for all areas of AMP and collaborates regularly with other Group Finance teams and business units throughout the organisation.

The Bank Statutory and Regulatory Reporting Team is responsible for the delivery of AMP Bank's half-yearly, annual and regulatory reports, developing governance frameworks to enable AMP Bank to meet its financial reporting and compliance obligations, and monitoring the financial and regulatory reporting processes of all related entities to ensure consistency. The team is also responsible for ownership of financial control and governance for AMP Bank

How you will make an impact
  • Prepare accounting position papers, analyse changes in financial reporting requirements together with ad hoc accounting advice when required. This encompasses accounting policies, estimates and judgements, recognition and measurement of financial instruments, related party transactions and financial risk management.

  • Support financial control through following operational accounting processes to ensure data integrity, and that adequate internal controls are in place related to the governance of the ledger for reporting and analytical requirements. This includes understanding the financial systems, processes and procedures supporting the accuracy of data.
  • Assist with Financial reporting analysis including monitoring liquidity and cash flow analysis. Additionally, assist in the preparation of Audit Committee and Board reports. It is crucial to ensure timely closure of accounting records at month-end and prompt delivery of reporting deliverables during key reporting periods.
  • Create and maintain accounting procedures documentation and contribute to control enhancements systems improvements and risk mitigation.
  • As a trusted adviser, engage with internal and external stakeholders whilst supporting a team goal and foster a positive work environment.

What you will bring to the role

  • Full Qualified CA / CPA (completed or in progress)
  • Ideally 2 years' experience of Finance process in a larger, complex organisation
  • Outstanding knowledge of accounting standards and statutory / regulatory reporting requirements is essential
  • Involvement in the preparation of audit of statutory and/or regulatory reporting requirements
  • Report writing and experience in the use of financial systems, database, internet applications, Excel, and Word
