What you will do
Your new role is within the Finance team of the Shared Services Centre in PGIM and reports into the Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the general accounting on a day to day basis e.g.,UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP reporting for certain legal entities. In addition you will review and sign off on a weekly basis the bank reconciliation performed by account payable team, review the cash journals and invoice receipts posting. The role holder will review intercompany and third party invoicing and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner and monitor the collection of receipts.

Preparation of the annual statutory accounts and participation in the annual audit process and internal audit requirements for those entities as needed will also fall under your remit. You will assist with the preparation of board reporting, development of accounting policy, procedures and guidance and also monitor the FX exposure of the UK consolidation group and manage hedging activity. You will ideally have experience in a large accounting firm or comparative accounting environment and an excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP and Statutory Accounts reporting and be ACA/ ACCA qualified.

What you can expect
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, liaising with the business and shared services centre to ensure robust and timely reporting.
  • Participation in annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS or simplified IFRS norms.
  • Preparation of quarterly Board reports and other financial reporting as required
  • Monitor the FX exposure of the UK Consolidation Group and propose appropriate currency hedges.
  • Review of intercompany and third party invoicing and monitoring of receipts
  • Review weekly bank reconciliation, cash journal posting and posting receipt of the invoices
  • Maintenance of control framework, including documentation of processes and controls.
  • Participation in projects to improve processes, reporting and control framework

What you will bring
  • Experience of reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS, including knowledge of IFRS16, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 and simplified IFRS.
  • Experience of reporting under US GAAP and knowledge of the differences between US and IFRS GAAP.
  • Experience of preparing Financial Statements under FRS101 & FRS 102 and IFRS, including interpretation and implementation of new standards and consolidation of accounts.
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining a control framework, including documentation of controls.
  • Experience of external and internal audits, including interim and final audit participation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the timely and successful completion of the audits.
  • Experience of monitoring FX exposure and implementing currency hedges.
  • Some level of management skills. Leading by example, foster an environment of personal responsibility ensuring the team member have the skills and resources to do his/her jobs, whilst providing support and technical guidance where necessary.
