Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head, Remedial & Recovery, Business Loan Recovery (BLR) Department and responsible for all matters relating to the management of his/her portfolio of both impaired and written-off accounts (Corporate/Enterprise accounts), forming part of the asset portfolio of BLR. In essence, formulating and implementing strategies for recovery/rehabilitation of impaired and written-off accounts, with the view of optimizing recoveries and minimizing impairment losses.

  • To study, evaluate and formulate an action plans or strategies to maximize recovery on both impaired and written-off accounts.
  • To prepare settlement/repayment proposal memo for borrower/customer's payment/settlement arrangements for Management's approval.
  • To monitor on an on-going basis the progress of such strategies in accordance with the approved milestone and target dates set to ultimately result in part/full Settlement of the NPL account, the account being returned to performing status, undertaking of relevant legal proceedings against the customer and review of Risk Grading for company accounts.
  • To monitor/follow-up closely with the solicitors on the recovery actions i.e., civil and foreclosure actions for the purpose to expedite recoveries of impaired and written-off accounts.
  • To formulate strategy through engage and liaise with Bank's recovery partners i.e, Receivers & Managers, Liquidators and Auctioneers for the purpose to expedite and maximize recoveries of impaired and written-off accounts.
  • To recommend and propose writing-off where recovery actions have been exhausted to Management for approval.
  • To ensure timely response to all queries, correspondences etc. pertaining the files assigned.
  • To ensure timely submission of claims of financial guarantee i.e. SJPP and CGC guarantees.
  • To monitor the borrowers/customers under repayment arrangement effectively and to take immediate action in the event of default.
  • To ensure data of the accounts are correctly maintained in the system.
  • To attend Court/Land Office and conduct fieldwork/site visits.
  • To attend to any ad-hoc reports/matters that may be assigned by the Head Unit or Head of Department.

Job Requirements
  • Degree holder in any related field, Accounting and/or Law are added advantage
  • Having at least five (5) years working experience in related function or credit management in Financial Institutions
  • Knowledgeable and have passion in doing recovery functions, as well as having strong negotiation skill.
  • Good business communication, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt in a face-paced environment.
  • Able to perform ad hoc duties when deemed required.
