Interested in capital formation, investment exchanges and financial markets? The LSEG Capital Markets division is home to several outstanding capital formation and trade execution venues! We're looking for an experienced an Assistant Manager to join our Financial Reporting & Control team in LSEG's Centre of Excellence. Key responsibilities include the monthly accounting and control relating the prestigious London Stock Exchange PLC and Turquoise Group.

  • Own and carry out technical accounting entries, such as IFRS9 and IFRS15.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline. Drive improvement and assess the quality of the support and substantiation of balances for Turquoise and the London Stock exchange companies.
  • Update and maintain the team timetable for tasks assigned to this role during month and quarter end.
  • Maintain and load regular journal entries relating to revenue and deferred income. Carefully check support and allocations.
  • Carefully review the ledger, income statements and balance sheets during the month end process.
  • Investigate unexpected variations in ledger balances vs trend by analysing ledger detail.
  • Contact upstream journal originators, and drive corrections or seek support and backup.
  • Respond swiftly to queries from external auditors. Participate in weekly meetings with the audit team and coordinate the gathering of audit evidence.
  • Actively participate in testing and assurance relating to systems upgrades.
  • Coordinate the monthly period close process checklist and month end timetables.
  • Build and maintain excellent standard operating procedures.
  • Grow an in-depth knowledge of the chart of accounts, ledger string coding, finance systems such as Essbase, HFM and Oracle Fusion.

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or similar)/ Degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 - 5 years PQE. Applicants with part qualifications will be considered if they possess the relevant experience.
  • Strong people and stakeholder management track record.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Tenacious. Ability to identify, chase down issues and follow through to conclusion.
  • Technical accounting, particularly UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience in Oracle / Oracle Fusion will be an added advantage.
  • Background in financial services or capital markets.
  • Experience with Blackline, Oracle, Hyperion and Essbase Systems is desirable.
  • Financial process improvement.
