Insight Investment is a leading asset manager focused on designing investment solutions to meet its clients’ needs.
Founded in 2002, Insight’s collaborative approach has delivered both investment performance and growth in assets under management. Insight manages assets across its core liability-driven investment, risk management, full-spectrum fixed income, currency, and absolute return capabilities. Insight Investment is owned by BNY Mellon, a global leader in investment management and investment services.
As a leading fixed income specialist asset manager, Insight Investments aims to deliver consistent and repeatable performance by focusing on key specializations - fixed income, insurance asset management, risk management strategies including liability-driven investment (LDI), currency risk management and absolute return and multi-asset. Headquartered in London (with other key offices in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Dublin, Frankfurt, Manchester, Sydney, and Tokyo), the business employs over 1,100 people including 285-plus investment professionals.
With just under $1 trillion under management and sitting within the Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY Mellon) Insight leverages the unique combination of achieving the high-performing, risk-adjusted returns of a boutique with the financial stability of a large, global financial institution. It enjoys investment decision-making autonomy, operating with an independent management structure and boards. As part of BNY Mellon’s multi-boutique structure, Insight has the backing of a sound global financial institution for which asset management is a core strategic priority.
The business has a clear mission and purpose to offer investors a different approach to achieving their investment goals; one that prioritizes the certainty of meeting their chosen objectives. Since its launch in 2002, Insight’s partnership approach has delivered an impressive record of growing assets under management based on client advocacy, making it a leading force in investment management. Insight is ranked number one in Edelman’s Asset Management Brand Index 2024 as the manager whose brand is most highly regarded in the institutional marketplace.
Insight has a global network of operations in the UK, Ireland, Germany, US, Japan, and Australia.

Division Description:
The Investment Management Division comprises experienced and specialised investment professionals. Insight’s global CIO is based in London and the Investment Team also has a significant presence in our US offices in New York, Boston, and San Francisco.
Both the structure of the team and the systems platform have been designed to provide scalability as well as complete flexibility. This flexibility allows us to tailor our offering to suit clients’ specific requirements, putting our clients' needs at the heart of our investment solutions.
Two considerations have shaped our investment range: our clients' objectives and a philosophy of only focusing on those things we know we can do well. This allows us to aim to deliver consistent and repeatable performance. Our capabilities include fixed income, risk management strategies including liability-driven investment (LDI) and currency risk management, absolute return, and multi-asset capabilities. Institutional clients are able to access these capabilities on a segregated account basis or via our pooled fund range.
Position Description:
The Systematic Fixed Income team manages $9 billion of primarily institutional investments in quantitative, long only fixed income strategies. Our seven Portfolio Managers/Analysts and seven Quantitative Researchers are pushing the boundaries of innovation in quantitative fixed income modeling, portfolio construction, and trading/implementation technologies. We focus on corporate credit (investment grade and high yield) and emerging market debt.
We are a diverse, rapidly growing, tightly knit group embracing a start-up mentality within Insight Investment. We are looking to hire an Associate Portfolio Manager to help manage our growth.
Role Responsibilities
The work of an Associate Portfolio Manager includes the following tasks revolving around assisting with daily management of systematic corporate bond and emerging market debt portfolios:
•Daily analysis of portfolio risk on multiple systems, ensuring that portfolio exposures are closely aligned with target model exposures and positioned correctly relative to benchmark exposures
•Understanding and vetting model outputs and how they relate to portfolio target exposures
•Daily detailed, complex portfolio performance attribution
•Trade proposal, construction, and implementation, to invest cash flows and rebalance portfolios toward target model weights; working with portfolio managers, traders, market counterparties, operations, and compliance teams to ensure best execution and settlement
•Responding to client and prospective client inquiries with portfolio and market analysis
•Assisting with pitchbook presentation creation
Experience Required
•Experience and interest in fixed income securities and markets.
•CFA or working towards the CFA would be viewed favourably.
•Flexible and comfortable with changing priorities depending on workload and team priorities.
•Execution and detail oriented whilst working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
•Able to work well independently, and take direction as required.
•Congenial team player: we believe in a flat hierarchy where we are respectful of one another and all pitch in to help each other.
•Inquisitive and comfortable asking questions to achieve end results.
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Quantitative skills, preferably including Python, Bloomberg, and Excel.
