Your role
We're seeking a Financial Control and System Specialist for our Finance team. As Financial Control and System Specialist, you will be crucial in managing financial records and tailoring our ERP system (NetSuite), you'll be instrumental in driving financial accuracy, efficiency, and long-term success.
Drawing on your proficiency in establishing and maintaining a comprehensive system of financial controls, you will be responsible for staying abreast of the latest trends and best practices in financial accounting and control to create unique experiences only Tamara can provide.
With a proven track record of experience in fintech, tech, or finance, deep understanding of accounting principles and IFRS reporting standards, and ultimately revolutionize the way millions of users shop, pay, and bank.

Your responsibilities
Financial Control and Compliance:
- Implement and uphold robust financial control procedures.
- Monitor transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address control weaknesses, driving corrective actions.
- Document accounting policies and procedures for transparency and consistency.
- Review Chart of Accounts to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial statements.
- Evaluate new product initiatives for their accounting impact and ledger treatment.
Month-end and Year-end Closing:
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities with precision.
- Record journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for transaction recording and reconciliation.
- Ensure proper classification of financial transactions and reconcile sub-ledgers.
ERP Systems & Automation:
- Evaluate and optimize our ERP system (Oracle NetSuite) for financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process automation to streamline operations.
- Provide training and support on automation features to finance team members.
- Collaborate with teams to identify and address process inefficiencies.
Personal Development:
- Take charge of your personal and professional growth.
- Mentor junior team members to support their development.
- Set and review personal development goals aligned with career objectives.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial accounting and control.
Your expertise
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial control, or related fields.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a professional certification (CPA, CA, or equivalent).
- Experience in fintech, technology, or financial services sectors.
- Proficiency in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Strong skills in reconciliations and Chart of Accounts maintenance.
- Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite software.
- Experience in ERP system implementation, configuration, and customization.
- Experience in developing and implementing financial control processes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
