About PSRS/PEERS

PSRS/PEERS is the largest defined benefit pension plan in Missouri. Our investment program fuels the majority of the funds needed to provide pension benefits for more than 298,000 Missouri public school personnel and their families. The market value of invested assets for PSRS/PEERS is approximately $58 billion as of March 1, 2024.

Most of our 169 employees work out of our headquarters in a recently remodeled/expanded building located at 3210 West Truman Boulevard in Jefferson City. We also have a satellite office in St. Louis, Missouri. We provide state-of-the-art technology and security.

 

About the Job

As an Investment Analyst, you will play an important role in our overall public markets portfolio. Reporting to a Portfolio Manager – Public Markets, you will monitor existing U.S. and Non-U.S. Public Equity and Safe Assets Program investments.  You will also conduct due diligence on prospective U.S. and Non-U.S. Equity and Safe Assets, including research and analysis, making recommendations, interacting with external investment consultants, and preparing and presenting material for the Board of Trustees and Management.  The position will help build and utilize sophisticated internal systems to track and monitor investments and assess risk on an on-going basis.  Additionally, the position will assist with: 1) identifying and tracking potential new investment opportunities, 2) portfolio and asset reporting; utilizing internal and external information and systems, 3) conduct general market research and maintain a thorough understanding of current markets 4) maintaining documentation and participating in meetings.

Our Investment Analyst works with external consultants and participates in due-diligence meetings via telephone, videoconference and/or in person, some off-site. You will also facilitate the processing of legal documents needed to evaluate prospective investments.

Some overnight travel is required.
 

Job Requirements

Candidates should have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or a related field. Prior relevant work experience is desirable. Active participation in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) course of study is required before or after joining the organization.
