Accounting & Reporting Expert is a member of Tokyo Finance team in ING Bank N.V., Tokyo Branch. You ensure followings;
  • All the transactions and accounting events are properly treated and booked in the ledger in line with relevant accounting rules
  • Accurate reports are punctually submitted to the stakeholders
  • Payment is processed with appropriate procedures and control

Job Responsibilities:

[Local Regulatory Reporting]
  • Annual/interim local financial closing and reporting including Financial Disclosure
  • Regular (Annual/Quarterly/Monthly) reporting
  • Respond to queries and surveys from BOJ
  • Respond to local regulatory reporting requirement changes
  • Ensure BOJ minimum required reserve is correctly reported and met. Calculate and accrue the BOJ interest receivable

[Financial Accounting]
  • Prepare and review FA reports
  • Analytical review of the movements
  • Respond to any HO regulatory requirement changes
  • Provide analytical comments/advice from a FA perspective
  • Manage hedge accounting operations

[Risk and Control]
  • Be responsible for risk & control works including MSFRR and TCF in Tokyo in accordance with the instruction given by regional team

[Product Control]
  • Provide support to SG FIFM team for the analytical review of daily P&L reports for Group Treasury, from local finance perspective

[Reconciliation]
  • Generate and analyze routine reconciliations including Daily Asset Monitoring and Yen B/S
  • Follow up the reconciliation of GBS, GFRS, Intercompany, etc. with IBSS Manila

[Special Duties]
  • Take initiative in improving the efficiency of Finance works
  • Provide advice from a finance/tax perspective
  • Assess how new business and regulatory requirement impacts, and lead implementation

What we're looking for:
  • Minimum 5 years of financial work experience, preferably also with audit background or professional (Japanese Nissho bookkeeping test 2nd grade in/CPA) qualification; Knowledge of Japan local regulatory reporting requirements (BOJ/FSA/GBIZ) would be advantageous.
  • Product and accounting knowledge of financial markets products (Derivatives) and wholesale banking lending and trade finance products is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong Japanese / English written and oral communication skills with proven success in influencing business decisions.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel. Excel Macro working knowledge.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders.
  • Strong team player, self-starter and motivator, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successful candidate will be results focused, with high energy, flexible and with good work prioritization skills.
  • Have valid Japan work permit and reside in Japan.
