The Head of Strategy, Transformation and Delivery is a senior leadership position within FTSE Russell's Benchmark & Index Management division responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of data and index management strategy, transformation and delivery within the Benchmark & Index Management division. The role leads the team responsible for index delivery, pipeline management and process innovation and also has horizontal leadership responsibilities to coordinate, prioritise and enhance index data and index management practices. The role supports the constant improvement and innovation of the organisations indices and benchmark management which are used in many financial products such as ETFs, mutual funds and other investment vehicles. The successful candidate will work closely with technology and the index platform strategy teams to ensure that the data and index management operations developments are integrated, meet client demands, comply with the related regulations and also adhere to industry best practices. They will also play a critical role in the successful integration of Index Refactoring (IRF) outcomes.

The Head of Strategy, Transformation and Delivery plays a critical role in driving FTSE Russell's index and data operations strategy and ensuring the accuracy, operational robustness and regulatory compliance of the organisations operation of Indices and Benchmarks. They also play a key role in the design and integration of the data and operational output from the index platform strategy group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be the key point of contact for the Index Platform Strategy Group operations and data workstreams. Providing input and planning for the testing and integration of the output.
  • Own the Index Delivery pipeline and be responsible for prioritisation of demands on the index management and data management teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the benchmark and index operations function, aligning with the index platform strategy group objectives, commercial objectives, regulatory requirements and client demands.
  • Work closely with technology to translate business requirements to technical specifications for data and index management, owning the transformation of the benchmark and index management function and transition to a more scalable, resilient target state.
  • Drive innovation and automation within benchmark and index management. Develop KPIs to monitor and drive performance based on business strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a training and mobility plan through the end-to-end lifecycle of Benchmark and Index Management to create subject matter expertise throughout the organisation, aiming to be 'employer of choice' in the index space.
  • Drive risk culture through the organisation to further support the enhancement of the risk and control environment.
  • Staying up to date with market trends and index methodologies.
Experience:
  • Ideal candidate will have a 15+ years of experience working in Index, or related, organisations.
  • Proven transformation delivery experience with a focus on strategic transformation. Proven track record of successful delivery of large programs of work / projects in the Index space involving significant complexity.
  • Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of index methodologies and best practices.
  • Significant leadership and managerial experience with the ability to create and lead a high performing team that is globally distributed and resilient.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level.
  • In depth knowledge of financial markets, investment products and regulatory requirements related to Index and Data Management.
  • Strong experience in data and index management best practices, business workflows, tools and automation and their implementation/usage.
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to execute with quality and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills and proven record in innovative thinking.
