Financial Reporting Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Professional to join our Finance Controllership team at MMC.
The Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for supporting MMC Controllership in maintaining and enhancing the internal control environment of the accounting function and producing financial information for use by the business units and reporting requirements for Pacific group of companies.
The position is responsible for accurate and timely production of tax related financial information and returns, for use by the business units of the Pacific region, external tax agents and tax authorities.
The Financial Reporting Manager is also responsible for the day-to-day management of Controllership staff.
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and our Melbourne office.

We will count on you to:
- Own and manage the preparation of the year end consolidated and company statutory accounts and related note disclosures in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Corporate year end is December, we only prepare annual financial statements.
- Own and manage the relationship with external auditors, including planning and ensuring audit requirements are met.
- Review of tax related disclosures for the year end consolidated statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare documentation for presentation to the Board (Board packs) and Audit Committees and other key stakeholdersBoard packs are prepared quarterly.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual management financial information in accordance with accounting standards, MMC accounting policies and timetable. Key duties include review of month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations, together with the provision of account movement commentary.
- Manage corporate accounting staff, including team meetings, talent management, development and training of staff.
What you nneed to have:
- Extensive general accounting experience (Financial Services).
- CA / CPA qualified and Degree in Commerce or Accounting or equivalent.
- Experience in the preparation of statutory financial statements, tax accounting and tax reporting (desirable).
- Experience managing staff (preferred).
- Experience with a Big 4 or mid-tier professional services firm preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge in US GAAP and IFRS reporting.
What makes you stand out?
- Knowledge of Australian and New Zealand direct and indirect taxes preferred.
- Knowledge of US taxes ideal, but not essential.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry preferred.
