Markets Operations Belfast Overview:
Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business. We support a wide range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

Team/Role Overview
This role is within the Middle Office team. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing & welcoming team, who directly interact with over 200 global clients and support our trading desk across 3 key regions (Europe, Asia and the United States).
This is a high-profile global team with exposure to large volumes of trades and high value items.

What you'll do:
  • Assisting clients with all trade confirmation related issues
  • Close liaison with internal businesses and stakeholders.
  • Assist with process improvement.
  • Work with technology groups to enhance and develop robust systemic solutions.
  • Understand impact of applicable regulations on the business area and ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assist with client onboarding.

This role is within the Derivative Confirmations Middle Office team, covering GSP, Rates and Equity Derivatives. This is a great opportunity to join a high performing & welcoming team, who directly interact with over 200 global clients and support our trading desk across 3 key regions (Europe, Asia and the United States).
This role will involve working with Citi's external clients as well as the Sales, respective business lines, and Citi Product Legal Counsel in negotiating, reviewing and analysing legal trade level documentation, co-ordinating, implementing and execution of a variety of Master Confirmation Agreements, across the global library. The successful candidate must also participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate templates and addressing governance / control issues when they arise and escalating to senior management where appropriate.
This is a high-profile global team with exposure to large volumes of trades and high value items. The role involves daily engagement with Front Office, internal stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to reconcile exception items and identify/resolve root cause.
The successful candidate will receive supportive training and a personal development plan to help them succeed within this role and develop their career at Citi.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the prioritising and negotiating/reviewing of Trade level Confirmations with internal/external clients to reach agreement on the contents of the relevant product/commercial documentation, through telephonic or electronic negotiation.
  • Close liaison with internal businesses/Product Legal/internal stakeholders in connection with the negotiation of the relevant documentation in the relevant business area.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of an up-to-date playbook and other negotiation processes and manuals.
  • Work with technology groups to enhance and develop robust systemic solutions for the drafting and record keeping of Master Confirmation Agreements
  • Understand impact of applicable regulations on the business area and ensure that Confirmations meet with such regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the delivery of green channel management through the identification and execution of client and counterparty onboarding to electronic platforms.
Experience
  • Experience of working in a legal/financial service organisation preferable.
  • Experience in negotiation of financial markets trading or product agreements is preferable, or some previous experience of negotiating commercial contracts as a minimum.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a challenging and changing environment.
  • ISDA/derivatives experience, banking, capital markets, funds distribution or securitisations background would be beneficial.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in a related ISDA Legal or Derivative Confirmations role, including any of Equity, Rates or Credit Derivative products is preferable
  • Experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance
  • Effective verbal and written communication and analytical skills
Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and experience
