This commercial real estate investment trust (REIT) is recruiting for a Corporate Tax Manager as they look to expand their existing in-house tax function. The Tax Manager will control of and administer the Group's CT compliance processes including preparation of tax provisions, REIT financial statements and finalising company tax returns, whilst also looking for efficiencies in the reporting and forecasting processes across REIT and non-REIT entities. This is a broad and varied role with significant scope for personal and professional development and the successful candidate will also gain exposure to transaction work in support of the Senior Tax Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of year-end and half year tax reporting schedules for Senior Tax Manager review.
  • Preparation of REIT tax forecasts for Senior Tax Manager review.
  • Management of CT related correspondence from HMRC.
  • Preparation of CT returns using Alphatax and underlying working papers:
    • Management Expenses allocation
    • Interest expense allocation
    • Capital Gains
    • Corporate Interest Restriction
    • Capital Allowances
  • Tax input to REIT and non-REIT Financial Statements, including the WACD calculation.
  • Preparation of CT61 Forms, DTTPS and interaction with PID/ dividend calculations for Senior Tax Manager review.
  • Maintain the group's property base cost records and support the Senior Tax Manager with developing enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Preparation of the SAO notification and support the Senior Tax Manager with documentation of the internal review.
  • Responding to ad-hoc queries & supporting the Senior Tax Manager on transaction advice as required.
  • Willingness to support the Assistant Tax Manager (VAT focus) with the preparation of group VAT returns

You will be a qualified accountant or tax specialist (CTA, ATT, ACA etc) with post-qualified experience working in corporation tax, ideally with prior experience to tax issues in the Real Estate sector. UK REIT tax experience would be fantastic. You will need to be a team player with excellent communication skills, with a pro-active approach and a willingness to get your hands dirty, learn and develop your experience in a supportive environment.
