Job Details

The Team: Rating Analyst is an Individual Contributor, but this position should be a team player building strong relationship with the team.  

 

The Impact: Responds to questions from investors and issuers. Participates in meetings and on-site visits with debt issuers and their representatives as assigned. Prepares material for BRC S&P publication and participates in ad hoc projects. 

 

  • Under direct management, analyzes routine and some non-routine analytical or business problems as directed; develops own industry knowledge; identifies industry risk factors.  

     

  • This position will have exposure to market leaders and senior analysts and grow inside the company.  

    Responsibilities:  

 

  • Analyzes a portfolio of simple and medium complex entities with support from manager and senior analyst. 

     

  • Conducts surveillance of rated debt issues and issuer's ratings; may act as a primary analyst for less complex entities.  

     

  • Demonstrates an understanding of rating principal and methodology, a working knowledge of BRC S&P ratings criteria and aids in researching criteria development needs. 

     

  • Contributes to the analysis of credit using BRC S&P rating methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, financial data, and financial statement analysis. 

     

  • Develops and maintains a centralized source of news information, including digital media, and carries out research for industry monitoring including examining corporate or municipal financial technical information.  

     

  • Supports team in spreadsheet and database development, maintenance, and analytics including extracting financial and economic data from source materials and inputting into group/company applications and performing financial modeling. 

     

  • Coordinates with local team to ensure data is treated consistently across industries and ratings. 

     

What We’re Looking For:  

Basic Qualifications: 

Postgraduate studies in business related field (and possibly pursuing advanced or business degree) 

3-4 years of work experience in financial analysis of financial institutions (brokerage, trust companies, insurance and banks). 

Advanced Microsoft office tools (mainly Advanced Excel skills) 

Advanced/bilingual English level (B2 high or C1)
