Job Summary
Gryphon Capital Investments, a Barings Company, is a specialist fixed income manager operating in the Australian RMBS and ABS fixed income markets.
Gryphon uses a proprietary ESG (environmental, social, governance) assessment to evaluate the positioning of Australian securitisation issuers across various ESG issues. This assessment is a crucial component of Gryphon's ESG integration and stewardship initiatives and requires periodic updates to maintain relevance and monitor issuer progress.
Gryphon is seeking a part-time individual to actively contribute to the revision and administration of a new iteration of the ESG questionnaire. This opportunity is ideal for a student with a keen interest in fixed income and/or sustainable finance. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Gryphon quantitative analytics team, working under the guidance of the team ESG lead.

Primary Responsibilities
- Contribute to the revision of questionnaire content and scoring
- Implement agreed changes to the questionnaire and scoring application in Excel and VBA
- Distribute the questionnaire to participants and track responses
- Process returned responses through the questionnaire scoring application
- Analyse results, including the distribution of scores and performance of various subgroups
- Generate reports summarising the assessment results and feedback for participants
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, science, mathematics)
- Interest in sustainable finance/ESG
- Basic understanding of finance concepts and terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with VBA or basic coding skills in another language is a plus
- Data analysis skills, including processing, analysing, interpreting, and visualising data
- Detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a small team environment
