Job Description

  • Permanent Role
  • Sydney based - hybrid working, WFH two days per week
  • Incredible opportunity to join the Group Finance team

How will I help?

This role is responsible for setting and managing the Group's balance sheet, revenue and risk adjusted returns performance in line with the Group's strategy and return hurdles. A key deliverable for the role is ensuring all ongoing board, board committee, executive team and broader group leadership requests (e.g. board strategy review, target setting, external disclosures, peer analytics, data rollout) are delivered in a timely manner and to a high quality.

The role will be integral in collaborating with stakeholders to deliver timely, relevant and actionable advice and insights to customers (the board, executive teams and broader leadership), whilst also supporting the team's collective development.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Drive and foster a growth and continuous improvement mindset within the team and partners.
  • Collaborating with Finance Transformation Strategy and other partners to deliver the right outcomes for Group Finance and Finance more broadly.
  • Provide insights on revenue outcomes across NIM drivers and sensitivities, balance sheet performance including quality (e.g., impairments / provisioning), and capital intensity through driver-based forecasting.
  • Support decision making across the enterprise-based product profitability and risk-adjusted returns.
  • Contribute to the Group's corporate / statutory (Australian & offshore) reporting / disclosure in accordance with applicable legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

What's in it for me?

Inspiring locations. Flexible workspaces. And unexpected opportunities. Plus, the backing and great benefits from one of the most refreshing employers in Australia. For example, you'll be able to have access to some of the best banking, wealth and insurance benefits in the market, be paid well, as well as an entire suite of online learning and career planning tools so you can grow.

Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers. This includes leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. And we continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a similar role within a group finance team covering revenue, or from a business partnering team in a product specific role (e.g. mortgages, deposits, etc).
  • 7+ years banking or financial services experience, chartered or CPA qualified, with a solid technical financial background.
  • Delivering in a high performing team through ambiguity and change.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, management and partnering experience.
  • Competency in strategy and policy formulation and delivery.
  • Superior conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills helping to "connect the dots" over and above the financials.
  • Critically analyse and synthesise complex information into simple digestible key messages and actionable insights.
  • Extensive practical application of financial data modelling and reporting process and report design through to business implementation.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation whilst maintaining customer service.
  • Proven data and reporting experience including use and understanding of BI applications, data warehousing and web-based reporting.
  • Experienced with software project management lifecycle in an agile environment (preferably IBM TM1 Planning Analytics).
