Job Description

Opportunity snapshot:

The Head of Transfer Agency (TA) Operations role will be based out of our Bangkok office and will be responsible for the TA functional service delivery to clients as well as execution of strategic initiatives in order to grow the business and meet organizational goals across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

This role is focused on a range of products with the portfolio consisting of:
  • A unit registry platform and establishing local operating models and services (BPO) focused on enabling fund managers and transfer agencies
  • An enterprise digital platform for advisors and investors for Transfer Agency activities
Direct reports:

The role will be responsible for leading a TA operations team in Bangkok with the team reporting into this individual.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team in Bangkok with a global perspective to deliver quality end to end Transfer Agency services.
  • Continually enhance the Transfer Agency service offering through knowledge of competitors, industry and the regulatory environment.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other senior management to deliver standardised best practice service models.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met from a Transfer Agency perspective, working closely with the TA senior management and the 2nd line of defence in region and globally.
  • Contribute to the management, strategic planning and direction of the overall Global and Regional Transfer Agency business.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product, Technology and other business partners in region, developing strategies and oversee project plans meeting operational goals and participating in business development.
  • Instils a client focus in the core operation, consistently meeting agreed client service levels and proactively managing and exceeding client expectations.
  • Monitor service level standards and provide senior management with reporting as well as maintain an environment where processes and controls are monitored, and potential risks escalated on a timely basis.
  • Ensure a robust and appropriate governance oversight model is in place to manage offshore and cross jurisdictional sites and vendors, as necessary.
  • Manage end to end operational risk, including strong resiliency and continuity of business plans, as it relates to Transfer Agency activities.
  • Work closely with groups internally to deliver projects in the region ensuring adherence to internal policy and standards.
  • Monitor and interpret the management information as well as internal and external benchmarks to assess and communicate the performance of the function.
  • Represent Transfer Agency in Thailand internally as well as with Clients and Industry wide.
  • Assist with oversight on TA client change and implementation.
  • Work with Client and SS&C teams to ensure customer satisfaction and ensure internal stakeholders and Directors are aware of any potential areas of concern.
  • Understand the TA competitive landscape and customer needs, to effectively position SS&C.
  • Responsible for fund audits
  • Collaborate with FA and Trustee(s) (where applicable) to ensure smooth workflow processes
  • Conduct regular reviews of SLAs, KPIs, procedures and checklists
  • Ensure prompt escalation of operational issues
Skills and Competencies:
  • A good understanding of the client service model, business strategy, structure and product offering.
  • Strong strategic leadership and thought process.
  • Strong risk, control and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and people development skills, able to develop diverse teams.
Qualifications & Prior knowledge:
  • 10+ years of experience in a related role. Extensive experience in leadership role.
  • In-depth Transfer Agency operations and technology knowledge including the Financial Services regulatory environment.
