A leading global Law Firm is seeking an experienced billing professional with strong leadership skills to oversee a team of billing coordinators and ensure consistency in billing practices.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily billing activities, mentoring the team, and coordinating assignments to meet deadlines and goals. With your expertise in billing management and excellent communication skills, you will effectively resolve billing issues and drive improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of Billing Coordinators, overseeing their daily activities and ensuring compliance with billing practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate workflow and assignments to meet deadlines and departmental goals.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members and stakeholders to review unbilled inventory, e-billing status reports, and address billing issues.
  • Proactively review and anticipate billing issues, escalating them as necessary.
  • Facilitate effective communication and problem resolution between departments, attorneys, and clients regarding billing matters.
  • Assist in testing, implementing, and documenting system enhancements.
  • Participate in management meetings, enforce guidelines, and make recommendations to improve billing methods and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
  • At least 10 years work experience, with 5 years of billing and billing management experience in a large law firm
  • Previous team management and supervision experience required.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Elite 3E, MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
