Lansing Group LLC - Introduction

Lansing Group LLC (“Lansing”) was created in 1993 by the Mortenson family to provide investment advisory services to Mortenson Construction and its related corporate entities (collectively the “Corporation”). Over the years Lansing has become intimately involved in business and estate succession planning, with the purpose of ensuring that the Corporation remains a private, family-owned company. Lansing is now a full-service family office providing investment advisory, financial management, trust administration, accounting, and tax services. Lansing serves the parent company M. A. Mortenson Companies, Inc., and the construction company M. A. Mortenson Company, the largest and most recognized subsidiary, as well as serving the family, the Mortenson Family Foundation, and other private entities.

The Mortenson family's business and personal interests have evolved and grown in complexity over the past three decades. Lansing is now dedicated to providing holistic financial management and planning services to Mortenson family members (three generations), over 60 trusts, a family foundation, and numerous other family-related entities. Lansing Group is driven by its core values of RISE2 – Responsibility, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, and Equity. Lansing’s purpose is to connect these core values with financial management and planning services because how and where we invest matters.

For Mortenson and Lansing, the goal is to use capital to leave the world better than they found it – believing that if the focus is on doing the better thing, that goal is worthwhile and attainable. Lansing is committed to redefining the traditional notions of family office wealth management, by recognizing that owners of multi-generational wealth have a responsibility to use their capital to benefit their community and world. The Mortenson family believes that it has a responsibility to steward its corporate, personal, and charitable resources to serve, focusing on the areas of climate, quality education, reducing inequality, and economic development. Mortenson and Lansing share a culture rooted in stewardship, duty of care, intellectual curiosity, and in deep and respectful relationships founded in kindness and compassion.
