We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Fund/Client Accounting Manager I to join our Fund Accounting team. This role is located in Pune, MH/ Chennai, TN - HYBRID
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Responsible for overseeing fund accounting activities for mutual funds that include income distribution, income smoothing, tax calculations, calculation of NAV for different products and funds.
  • Leads team that calculates the net asset value (NAV) for assigned funds for each measurement cycle. Supervises Accountants who perform accounting services for assigned clients such as determining net asset values, disseminating NAV, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, completing reconciliations and preparing reports.
  • Manages the performance of teams and establishes departmental priorities.
  • Maintains relationships with assigned clients and solves any escalated issues related to fund calculations and accounting.
  • Guides and sets priorities for processes that verify the completeness and accuracy of disclosure in financial statements and support adjusted trial balance requirements.
  • Ensures that accounting records are kept in accordance with departmental policies and procedures by providing guidance to teams managed.
  • Solves escalated issues from team members.
  • Assesses GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.
  • Advises teams on how to implement new policies to follow regulations.
  • Oversees the preparation of financial reports for clients to review fund performance. Explains reports and accounting complexities to clients.
  • Hires, guides, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to work effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Manages working relationships with auditors and clients to make changes to financial reports and ensure they accurately reflect fund performance.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 9+ years of work experience and at least 1-2 years in management preferred.
  • Must be flexible to work night shifts.
