Your new role
This is a job that is pivotal to the business. You will act in a leadership role steering the company towards achieving strategic and operational business objectives. You will lead and actively engage in key financial activities.

You will be supported by your team to deliver crucial accounting tasks. These tasks include Audit, Tax, End of Month activities, statutory financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will guide and coach your team providing leadership, leading by example to ensure excellence in financial operations.

You will
  • Directly oversees a team inclusive of Accountant, AP and AR officers, responsible for developing clear job goals, managing priorities, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing leadership and support.
  • Manage the preparation for, and completion of periodic internal and external audit.
  • Preparation of statutory and tax reporting for local subsidiaries, in consultation with external advisors and auditors.
  • Ensure efficient and timely delivery of all aspects of transactional finance activities including Credit Cards, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable.
  • Delivery of expense accounting including but not limited to; payroll, prepayments, credit cards, intercompany recharges, intercompany confirmations, and general accruals.
  • Reconciliation and processing of trade prepayments and monthly review of Goods Received Not Invoiced.
  • Ensure the accurate treatment, processing, and reconciliation of lease agreements under Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Provide leadership and hands-on support for the accurate preparation and timely lodgement of indirect tax returns (FBT, Payroll Tax, GST).
  • Manage the overall EOM reporting timeline, ensuring that it is in line with deadlines. Lead a monthly continuous improvement review of performance to deadline, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage the annual collateral review for borrowing base, sourcing information as required and working with external auditors as required.
  • Preparation of monthly accounts for subsidiary companies.
  • Review and approve monthly General Ledger reconciliation to HO submission.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting.
  • CA / CPA qualified.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and coaching a team to achieve outcomes
  • Specialist knowledge covering a range of indirect taxes supported by on the job experience across a range of industries.
  • Problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence people at various levels within an organisation.
  • The ability to solve complex problems and diligence to make informed and supported decisions.
  • Attention to detail, highly organised and deadline driven.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
