Edward Jones is seeking a highly skilled individual to serve as Department Leader, Firm Strategy .

The Competitive Insights team in the Firm Strategy division is responsible for scanning the external environment to inform the firm's strategic choices, assessing performance relative to the industry, and identifying new business opportunities. Edward Jones is seeking a highly skilled individual to lead the Competitive Insights team and serve as Department Leader, Firm Strategy.

Key Responsibilities include the following:
  • Support the development of long-term strategy with the senior management team through delivery of competitive insights.
  • Provide consultative support to help executive leadership achieve multi-year plans and strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of high impact strategic issues confronting the firm, collaborating with, and managing cross-functional teams as required.
  • Communicate around strategic issues across the firm via presentations, meetings, and written communications.
  • Track industry and competitive trends and develops business outlook and forecasts where appropriate.
  • Lead a team of associates with mandates for strategy formulation and competitive insights.
  • Lead/facilitate strategic exercises and various strategy workshops with stakeholders across the firm.
  • Identify potential strategic opportunities for the firm to pursue as part of its enterprise strategy.
  • Build industry relationships and participates in external conferences.
  • Bachelor's degree is required with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Advanced Degree(s) or Certification(s) in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Analytics are preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of relevant work experience, with a preference for analytical and/or core strategy work within financial services. Management consulting experience is preferred, and in-depth knowledge of the brokerage industry is an additional plus.
  • Prior leadership experience is required.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills are required.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, valuation and financial modelling are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as the position will be responsible for significant thought leadership.
  • Experience contributing to high-impact strategy assignments is required.
  • Experience managing contributions to the work of multiple projects is required.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:
