Job Description

  • Permanent position at Westpac Yeppoon
  • Part time position (20.25 hours per week)
  • Ongoing training and development available to grow your career.

The Westpac Group has a rich heritage and offers employees a multitude of opportunities. We aim to attract the best people inside and outside of the business - building an organisation where the best talent thrives. This includes offering opportunities for our employees to work towards industry recognised qualifications (backed by us) and work with proven leaders that will help you accelerate your banking and financial services career.

The role

As a Teller, you will be key to Westpac's strategic purpose of creating better futures together, helping our customers, communities and people to prosper and grow. The role of a Teller involves consistently processing customer transactions efficiently and accurately, in addition to providing a seamless service. You will also identify opportunities to help our customers meet their financial needs by referring them to the right person.

What's in it for me?

In a word, lots! Over time, you will be well trained to provide general banking information and steadily turn into a banking specialist. Due to the size of our network, we are confident in providing a clear pathway for progression as a result.

In addition to this, you can expect financial benefits for being part of the Westpac team (like special banking, wealth, and insurance offers) you'll be paid well, and supported throughout your career so you can grow as you do. You'll also be encouraged to take part in our fun community projects as a paid volunteer.

What you need to succeed

The key skill you will need for this role is a genuine desire to help customers and deliver the best service every time. You may not have banking experience, but that's ok. We can teach you the banking side of the role. You will have a great attitude and a friendly manner and will be looking for that next role, where you can be your best.

What's it like to work there?

We aim to provide one big, supportive team to help us achieve our purpose of creating better futures together. As an equal opportunity employer, we're proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility - and champions inclusion.
