Overview

We currently have an opportunity for a Treasury Manager to lead our new Treasury function in Ireland.

In this role you will oversee investments, intercompany loans and drive Treasury initiatives in Ireland. You will have a sound understanding of investment securities, funds, investment products and capital markets.

The role will require a desire and ability to both manage and improve upon Gallagher’s existing investment program. 

How you'll make an impact

  • Research suitable investments and direct placement of excess cash
  • Manage portfolio allocations to desired asset classes and exposures in accordance with policy
  • Oversee monthly reporting of investment performance
  • Provide ad hoc reports to senior leaders relating to investments, including balances, performance, forecasts, and portfolio composition
  • Utilising the Treasury Workstation to maintain global forecasts for investment income
  • Develop a cash segmentation strategy; propose and implement strategic areas for value creation and improvement within the existing investment program
  • Identify and manage any risks associated with the investment program
  • Source and negotiate all intercompany loan arrangements of the Irish entity; setting the terms of the loan including interest rate and conditions
  • Monitor and manage intercompany loan portfolios
  • Execution of foreign currency trades utilising Bloomberg trading platform
  • Liaison with the board of directors of the company in relation to the above responsibilities
  • Support other treasury functions as needed

About you

  • A university degree in Finance, Business or Accounting
  • Relevant experience gained within treasury, finance, or asset management
  • Experience in managing portfolios, preferably for financial institutions or corporates
  • A sound understanding of debt capital markets, specifically treasury and short-term secured funding markets, along with commercial paper, time deposits, and other investment products
  • Experience with FX hedging desirable
  • Broad understanding of general accounting and financial reporting, especially as it relates to the reporting of investment securities
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and lead and execute change initiatives
  • Experience with Treasury Workstations
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
