We are currently seeking a dedicated HOH Military Fellowship Business Strategy Analyst-Intermediate to participate in Hiring Our Heroes (HOH) Fellowship Cohort 24-2 with USAA. The HOH Fellowship Program builds an outstanding experience for transitioning service members, veterans, and military spouses that increase competitiveness and improve opportunities to find important employment by providing development, skills, and exposure to corporate working environment and private sector business operations. HOH Fellowship Programs are best-in-class workforce development programs that are cohort based and twelve weeks in duration.

As a participant in the Military Fellowship Program, we understand that in most cases Fellows are ending their active service commitments and actively relocating. Therefore, while participating in the Fellowship program, Fellows are authorized to work remotely. If selected for full time employment, we offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Applies quantitative and qualitative analysis to make connections between evolving industry trends, market developments, USAA's strategic direction, regulatory environment, and macroeconomic trends for the business unit. Provides insights and information-based context for vital team members in the business unit to optimally handle, influence, and impact line of business strategy.

What you'll do:
  • Identifies and refines key business assumptions and hypotheses around line of business strategy factoring in recommendations from analysts.
  • Supports peer analysts in developing the analytical framework and blueprint to answer business questions identified in the business portfolio, product, or member experience.
  • Leverages data-driven problem-solving techniques to manipulate and interpret business results.
  • Assists with translating findings into insights for strategy management and execution.
  • Prepares supporting data and detailed material that helps communicate the significance of the strategic insights to senior leaders and other partners.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:
  • Current participant in one of the Hiring Our Heroes Fellowship Programs cohort 24-2.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, Finance, Economics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 2 years of experience in data and/or analytics or strategy consulting.
  • Foundational knowledge of project management.
  • Proven experience using data analytics to formulate data-driven insights.
  • Experience developing recommendations driven by qualitative/quantitative analysis and market insights.
  • Experience performing data analysis using various data analytics tools (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, R, Python, SQL, Snowflake, SAS, Adobe Analytics).

What we offer:

Hiring Our Heroes Fellows are paid by the HOH program.

If selected for a full-time role, USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The hiring range for this position is: $61,110 - $116,800.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
