The Wealth Risk Engagement Lead plays a pivotal role in establishing and maintaining robust relationships between the Wealth Business Risk Team, key stakeholders within the Wealth sector, colleagues in Wealth Technology and the First Line GRC functions. This role is integral in ensuring a comprehensive understanding of risk exposure, particularly pertaining to IT & Digital Security risk, operational resilience, third party, data and privacy risks and directing focus towards the right priorities. By providing relevant information on a timely basis to enable effective and efficient management of IT & Digital Security risks across Wealth business, as well as to act as the single point of contact related to other frameworks managed within the First Line GRC function to Wealth colleagues (operational resilience, third-party engagements, data and privacy).

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Establishment:
  • Cultivate strong relationships between the Wealth Business Risk Team, key stakeholders, and technology colleagues to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Act as a liaison between different teams to ensure alignment and good understanding of risk management strategies and objectives.

Risk Understanding and Prioritisation:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risk exposure across all in-scope risks.
  • Communicate current risk position at regular local and wider risk forums by providing qualitative analysis and rationale against latest risk data; identifying and highlighting trends and deviance from agreed risk appetite.
  • Utilising other First Line GRC functions to form risk opinion and recommend prioritisation and risk treatment in-line with business priorities.
  • Identify and prioritise key risk areas, directing efforts towards addressing critical vulnerabilities.

Control Management:
  • Work closely with First Line GRC controls and governance teams to oversee the implementation and execution of key controls related to IT & Digital Security risk, operational resilience, third-party engagements, data management, and privacy in relation to Wealth business.
  • Ensure early escalation to Wealth management and support prioritisation of remediation activities for identified control gaps.

Collaboration with Technology GRC Function:
  • Work closely with colleagues within the technology First Line GRC function.
  • Collaborate on control testing, risk identification, assessment, and reporting to strengthen risk management practices across the Wealth business unit.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, information technology, or related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISSP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in risk management within the financial services industry, with a focus on wealth management or related areas.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, controls frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Proven experience in one or multiple in-scope risk areas preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and driving initiatives to completion.
  • Sound knowledge of operational resilience, third-party risk management, data governance, and privacy regulations.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, control testing, and risk reporting.
