The role reports into the Head of Sustainable Investment. The role is responsible for broad support across the multi-asset investment process with a focus on SFIM's sustainable investment strategy, including the research and monitoring of investments, support of investment related projects and assistances with queries from client relationship teams. Research will extend across asset classes and alternative strategies and products. It is an important aspect of the role that the employee promotes and develops robust Operating Procedures across the business and adheres to regulatory and compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Sustainable Investment and members of the investment team, supporting work on investment strategy, manager research and investment reporting.
  • Deliver relevant high quality quantitative and qualitative analysis required to assess, select and monitor fund managers for inclusion in SFIM's multi asset portfolios.
  • Contribute own views to the Investment Committee and challenge team views. Participate in investment decisions on investments covered.
  • Produce regular reviews of performance and key drivers of investment strategies and investment managers.
  • Produce presentational material and commentary to support client servicing.
  • Deliver ad hoc projects and bespoke work for specific client projects. This work may extend to research into investment themes, alternative types of investments products, securities and derivatives.
  • Adhere to Investment Management and Group Compliance policies and procedures, undertaking appropriate regulatory training and dealing with potential breaches of compliance policies without delay.
  • Relevant undergraduate and post graduate qualifications
  • Appropriate IT skills and systems experience
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical research skills
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to explain complex data and information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to produce highly technical and detailed information ensuring recipients understand the information provided
  • Ability to change focus quickly to meet changing demands and to manage the transition from task to task effectively
  • Makes decisions based on a clear understanding of issues, relevant views and opinions, and an objective analysis of facts
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of risk issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills - good at building positive and constructive relationships
