Job Description:
The Role

As a member of the User Experience Insights and Design Team, you will contribute to Fidelity's future growth using human-centered design to help guide the designing and building of a significant new product offering for Fidelity. Digging into complex, ambiguous, human-centered problems, you will be charged with crafting and conducting user research, identifying the problem from the user's point of view, developing insights and opportunity areas, leading ideation, and testing through prototypes. You will synthesize competitive research, user research, and client feedback to inform a compelling user experience, and prioritized roadmap for this new line of business.
The Skills and Expertise You Bring
  • Ability to craft and implement qualitative and quantitative research using different methods and techniques based on project goals and timelines
  • Research skills to uncover and investigate unmet needs (e.g. group and 1:1 interview facilitation skills, ethnographic skills, JTBD, journey mapping, design heuristic evaluation, etc.)
  • Research expertise to help teams craft meaningful and usable solutions (e.g. lead ideation sessions, conduct concept resonance and feedback research, etc.)
  • Ability to work with partners and data from product management, design, engineering, and analytics to find answers and generate revelatory insights
  • Synthesis expertise: ability to get to the "so what"; surfacing fresh insights and opportunity areas from research
  • Ability to challenge traditional assumptions about UX Design and Research - seeking out, inventing, testing and sharing new ideas and technologies
  • Entrepreneurial and curious mindset
  • Communication expertise: share research and ideas effectively and drive positive relationships across roles, levels, and business groups
  • Initiative, ambition, and self-motivation, driving research programs with collaboration and leadership
  • Ability to build prototypes and presentations that break down complex concepts into simple ideas
  • Proven ability conducting/leading Design Research/ User Experience Research efforts
  • Experience working in financial services or financial technology, within startups, large companies, or preferably both
  • Degree or Equivalent experience in Design, Human Factors, Psychology, and/or related field highly preferred

At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we're calling "".
