Main Responsibilities
- To undertake reviews and risk assessments on both new to bank and existing customers;
- Ensure internal CDD/EDD requirements are adhered to and be able to clearly breakdown and communicate the instructions where there are gaps in due diligence;
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders including CDD/FCP and branch colleagues raising issues from case checking to enable these to be resolved in a timely manner;
- Ensure work flow management tools are completed fully and accurately to enable data to be extracted for MI reporting purposes
- Identify any key risks and AML 'red flags' and escalate these accordingly;
- Review PEP & RCA screening matches and queries - making recommendations to onboard / retain / declassify / exit;
- Manage customer expectations through effective communication skills
- Present complex cases to Financial Crime Customer Committee and obtain approval to retain or exit
- Operate in line with the Bank's Risk Management framework (including sub-frameworks) and relevant risk and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation of any concerns to their line manager;
- Perform ad-hoc duties delegated by Team Manager.

- Strong understanding and experience of AML/TF, KYC/CDD/EDD, Sanctions within the UK regulatory environment;
- Ideally, relevant specialist FC qualifications: e.g. ICA Diploma in FCP/AML, ACAMS;
- A demonstrable excellent knowledge and understanding of complex corporate structures and have the ability to advise on KYC/CDD/EDD requirements both for direct clients and related/associated parties, including the ability to carry out risk assessments and recommendations;
- Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and application of simplified, standard and enhanced due diligence;
- Recognise when to make individual decisions and when there is a need to escalate to a Team Manager and/or second line of defence;
- Be proactive and collaborative to make relevant changes to policies, procedures and working practices and liaise with second line of defence where relevant;
