Job Description
Global company, looking for mid level IT Project Manager to help deliver new technology into the Japan team

Roles/Responsibilities
  • Lead IT system development projects covering wholesale insurance business.
  • Manage project initiation, execution, and post-release implementation.
  • Coordinate internal users and stakeholders, as well as external teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure effective communication. D
  • rive innovation by integrating agile, DevOps, cloud computing, and AI tools. Particular project focus will be on digital promotion projects to enhance insurance product sales in 2024.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and foster a positive work environment.
  • Support program management and project portfolio prioritization.
  • Prepare governance-related reports and adhere to PMBOK guidelines.
  • Initiate projects, define objectives, estimate benefits, and select solutions.
  • Manage project execution, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
  • Facilitate project closure, capture lessons learned, and measure effectiveness.
  • Develop system development plans leveraging expertise in system development.
Required skills

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Native-level Japanese with business level English
  • Over 3 years of development vendor management experience, from development to production release.
  • Ability to build teams and adapt communication style depending on the audience.
  • Deep understanding of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
Technical Skills:
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience, handling small to large-scale projects, ideally longer-term projects (1+ years in duration).
  • At least 3 years of SDLC experience, including Agile development.
  • Knowledge of system development and maintenance within financial institutions.
  • Proficiency in creating and reviewing requirement definition deliverables.
Preferred skills
  • Experience in system development, testing, and test automation.
  • Additional experience in web app development, ETL, relational databases, test automation implementation, and CRM management.
  • Knowledgeable in AP servers, DB servers, AWS development, and cloud management, including Salesforce and Azure.
  • Experienced in building test automation frameworks and leading test automation teams.
Personal Attributes
  • Strong communication skills with end-users who might have varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Proficiency in analyzing diverse data types, such as system development data and operational KPIs.
  • Effective prioritization skills and a keenness for learning.
