My client, an International Energy firm is seeking a skilled Forecasting Analyst to join their team in Paris, reporting to the Pricing and Forecasting Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing forecasting methodologies and tools, utilising Python libraries and SQL queries to project customer load curves for electricity commodities in the short term. Your responsibilities extend to participating in various modelling projects for other commodities (gas, capacity) over both short and long terms, actively engaging in the entire value chain from database setup to model building.

As a Forecasting Analyst, you will play a crucial role in operational shifts, contributing to processes like gas and electricity forecasting, capacity planning, and Business Plan forecasts. Daily monitoring of model performance and optimizing balancing costs will be paramount. Additionally, fostering a strong collaboration with Portfolio Management teams to provide optimal visibility on exposures and balancing management strategies is essential. You will be responsible for developing methodologies and tools for electricity forecasting, including the automation of queries, data reprocessing, and the application of machine learning techniques.

The ideal candidate possesses data analysis and data science expertise, along with advanced programming skills in Python (numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras) and Linux. Demonstrated ability to manage large datasets is essential.

If you are a dynamic professional with the requisite skills and qualifications, eager to contribute to cutting-edge forecasting and modelling initiatives in the energy sector, we invite you to apply and be part of our forward-thinking team in Paris or send me your CV on hadjra.sohawon@goodmanmasson.com
