My client, a global Chinese bank with a decades-long established reputations in London, is looking for a senior credit risk manager to join their credit and risk teams. This bank has been in London for over 50 years and works with some of the largest financial institutions and corporations in the UK. With over £3 trillion in assets under management, the bank has significant financial backing and has impressive future ambitions for further growth. This role is born out of these plans for growth, with it being an expansion and there being a need for senior, experienced professionals within the team.
Your new role
The key purpose of the role is to support the CRO and Deputy Head of Risk to manage the Branch's credit risks while assisting in the process of putting risk-adjusted profitable business on Branch's books. Day-to-day, you will have a variety of responsibilities including: provide independent, high quality credit risk assessments and recommendations for (a) corporate, financial institution and sovereign counterparties, issuers and clients, and (b) country risks, and to ensure that those assessments are formally reviewed in line with credit policy; determining and, where applicable, improving the methodology for accurately calculating credit exposures from new and existing products and business, and for measuring and monitoring portfolio credit risks; assisting the Deputy Head of Risk in allocating and supervising the work of other credit risk analysts and providing support, advice and assistance to all Business Areas on all credit-related matters, including structuring of prospective transactions to mitigate credit risk appropriately.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will need at least 4 years of experience within corporate banking as a credit analyst, covering the UK market and corporate sectors. You must have a good understanding of a broad range of wholesale banking and treasury products and a strong understanding of the sources of credit risk in such products. A good understanding of the UK regulatory framework is also required.
