Key Responsibilities for this role:
  • Debt Strategy & Origination
    • Play an active role in structuring, negotiating and executing external loan financings on behalf of the real estate funds
    • Establish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions
    • Play an active role in maintaining debt facilities and ongoing monitoring and reporting against covenants
    • Support maintaining and improving the debt financing policies for the real estate funds
    • Report on debt matters to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Develop and implement hedging strategies
    • Develop effective hedging policies and procedures for the funds (mainly interest rate and FX) in conjunction with the real estate fund managers (as appropriate)
    • Support execution of the hedging strategies, liaising with banks and advisors as relevant
    • Monitor and report on hedging positions and support the valuation by an independent third-party valuer
    • Report on hedge positions to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Liquidity management
    • Support the production of accurate and timely reporting (actual and forecast) to aid fund managers decision making and liquidity management
    • Ensure adherence with relevant counterparty risk policies
    • Ensure effective and efficient processes for executing liquidity management strategy, including placing of funds with third parties
    • Support maintaining and improving the liquidity management policies and procedures and ensuring these are embedded within the business
    • Report on liquidity matters to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Transaction management
    • Coordinate with the acquisition, asset management, property fund finance, tax and corporate secretary teams to support investment transactions activities
    • Play an active role to ensure all investment transactions (purchase and sale) are seen through to completion within defined timescales, costs and delegated authorities
    • Assist in reviewing pre-execution and due diligence check lists
    • Assist in responding to internal and SOC auditors on investment, debt origination & derivative transactions and liquidity management matters
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant area of study, preferably finance related
  • At least 7 years of relevant working experience in similar capacity
  • Familiar with key treasury related regulatory and accounting concepts
  • Good understanding of Asia real estate, some knowledge of ESG related concepts such as green/sustainability linked loans, experience using Bloomberg and operating in a multi-currency environment will be advantageous
  • Team player with the ability to interact with and inspire others
  • Resourceful and flexible with the ability to respond in a rapidly changing environment
  • Lateral thinker, inquisitive and open to new ideas
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
