The Role: The Fertilizer market reporter is a journalist and pricing specialist covering Platts' widely-used suite of Fertecon-branded spot prices, news and analysis about the global Fertilizer markets.
Responsibilities: The market reporter is responsible for establishing market coverage on global Fertilizer markets, reporting on daily and weekly physical trading activity. The reporter is also responsible for writing commentaries explaining the trends driving prices, creating news stories and participating in multi-media coverage such as webinars and presentations, including representing Platts at industry events.
The reporter is also responsible for engaging with market participants while building and managing a database of industry contacts. The reporter also identifies opportunities to refine methodology and launch new price assessments with the goal of advancing growth in the global Fertilizers team.

Day timings: Covering the market in the Fertilizer team involves starting work by 9:00am London. The price reporter will typically be able to finish work by 5:00pm daily, and by 7:30pm on Thursdays, depending on commodity market conditions.

Your Skills:
- BA degree or higher
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally
- Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform well to tight deadlines
- Excellent English writing skills
- Culturally and socially sensitive
- Two to five years' reporting/writing/analytical/editorial experience
- Experience or knowledge of the Fertilizer sector highly beneficial, but can be taught on the job
- Keen interest in commodities and global commodity markets
- Knowledge of economic principles
- Strong numeracy skills including ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic maths functions in Excel
- Fluency in relevant international languages an advantage
