OVERALL SUMMARY

At Close Brothers we look to recruit individuals from all different backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every box. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.

An exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the enterprise risk management framework and model governance framework and embedding centralised risk controls across the group.

This role sits within the second line Risk Operations and Governance Team and requires a candidate with strong stakeholder management and organisational skills.

The key responsibilities are to support the Risk Governance Lead in managing the delivery and ongoing evolution of the group's risk governance framework across all risk types and divisions, as well as specific management and improvement of the firm's model risk governance framework to minimise the risks that arise from the use of models.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the Risk Operations and Governance function in providing oversight and direction to colleagues in accordance with the firm's policies, procedures, standards and SLAs.
  • Manage activities to evolve and embed the risk committee framework.
  • Support the evolution of the broader risk and compliance committee (RCC) structure and work with the businesses to evolve the RCC format and reporting.
  • Lead and advance the Model Risk Governance framework, including enhancements to reporting and processes and increased awareness of model risk.
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
  • Practical experience in the running of a management / executive-level committee and broader risk governance processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and an interest in investigating issues and developing solutions.
  • Reporting experience, including an ability to condense information, develop reports and presentations and produce ad-hoc analyses sufficient to optimise delivery to senior management and the board.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
  • Proven experience of delivering risk governance, including the implementation of risk controls / governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of models, model risk, IRB or IFRS 9.
We are an inclusive organisation and committed to ensuring our recruitment process is as accessible as possible to everyone. We will make adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition. If you need the job description or application form in an alternative format or would like to discuss the recruitment process with us, please email us at recruit.ssc@closebrothers.com or request a call back.
