The Vacancy

At Close Brothers we look to recruit individuals from all different backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every box. We celebrate diversity, promote inclusivity and are open to discuss flexible work options to help you balance your work and home life.

Join the Close Brothers Asset Finance (CBAFL) team where you will be responsible for generating new business and building on existing relationships through delivering Hire Purchase and Lease, asset finance and refinance solutions to the Corporate sectors in Scotland.

You'll work efficiently and consistently to achieve set targets, generating sales through actively sourcing new business opportunities along with direct sales activity, following up leads generated by marketing and initiating local marketing activity.

This is a field-based role, so you will be based from home but will spend a large portion of your time on the road with customers. This role will cover a territory in Glasgow so we're interested in speaking to any individuals with relevant experience based locally.

  • Proactively source sales from within the allocated geographical location either by directly prospecting the existing customer base, sourcing new customers or through dealer introducers.
  • Act as a contact between the company and its existing and potential markets, negotiating terms of an agreement and closing sales, gathering market and customer information.
  • Make accurate, rapid quotations and provide customers with the relevant information to close the deal.
  • Ensure the products are marketed using the appropriate methods and route to market.
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.
  • Work closely with the Collections team to maintain a satisfactory level of defaults within your own portfolio.
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
  • You have experience of working in a customer-facing, Asset Finance sales environment - with a proven track record of achieving KPIs.
  • You're able to analyse and interpret financial information.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels and to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • You are sales driven with ability to plan and manage your own activities and contact strategy.
  • Specialised in Asset Finance within the Transport sector and/or dealing with the £2M-£15M SME market space, looking at Structured deals and stronger credit worthy companies.
We are an inclusive organisation and committed to ensuring our recruitment process is as accessible as possible to everyone. We will make adjustments for people who have a disability or long-term condition. If you need the job description or application form in an alternative format or would like to discuss the recruitment process with us, please email us at or request a call back.
