Overview

As a Finance Data Steward in our Data Management Execution Team (part of Deutsche Bank Enterprise Architecture Function), you will partner with Finance experts to analyze the end-to-end process for financial and regulatory reporting to clearly articulate inefficiencies, inaccuracies, and control issues. Your work will drive improvements in the quality of information used in financial statements, disclosures, financial metric calculations, and regulatory filings in the US. You will lead efforts to perform root cause analysis of identified issues and map out tactical and strategic solutions for process and control improvement, as well as front to back teams across the globe to agree solutions, prioritize the delivery, and oversee the implementation. You also will be responsible for documentation and maintenance of meta data related to Finance Processes. The Bank is investing heavily in our data architecture and supporting technology solutions, and your analysis will contribute to the detailed definition of our target state that will have meaningful impact for colleagues across the Bank.

What You'll Do
  • Champion our enterprise data strategy by advocating for the solutions aligned to our data principles, policies and standards and educate key stakeholders within Finance on purpose and value of data governance and importance of data quality
  • Support the definition and maintenance of metadata, business terms, data ownership, CDE's, producer/consumer listing, data flow diagrams
  • Manage the execution our Data Quality Issues management process (analysis issues, design solutions, prioritize implementation, plan, and track execution) for the Risk domain
  • Track and report on data quality compliance throughout the front to back flow of data including adherence to data contracts
  • Support on-going operation of data quality management across the Risk data domain by defining and reporting on processes and metrics to measure the quality of the data used in risk management including leveraging the Bank's BCBS239 Compliance Framework
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within data management processes and tools (e.g., critical data elements, lineage, control documentation, data quality measurement), while translating business strategy into practical operational action plans with clear objectives
How You'll Lead
  • Work within key stakeholders like Americas Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Legal Entity Controllers and The Head of Americas Regulatory Reporting, Americas Chief Data Officer, Americas Head of BCBS239 Compliance, and Americas Finance Change Lead
  • Ability to create vision and develop/implement strategy for the same
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships
Skills You'll Need
  • Experience with BI / data analytics tools, (e.g., Tableau, QlikView, Alteryx)
  • Basic experience in a programming / scripting / data query language, (e.g., Python, VBScript, Structured Query Language (SQL)) supporting the ability to interpret, analyze large data sets
  • Experience in business and data analysis, process improvement and project management
  • Experience in developing data standards, processes, and policies, as well as developing and implementing enterprise data strategies, operational data stores and data quality tools
  • Experience with large scale data remediation or regulatory remediation projects
Skills That Will Help You Excel
  • Experience in a position of increasing responsibility within a finance or related infrastructure function within a Global Investment Bank (either in Bank Reg Reporting including Treasury and Risk or within the related functions such as Technology or Data office)
  • Strong understanding and direct experience with Finance and Treasury
  • CPA or MBA are not required but strong accounting background is required
  • Extensive experience in banking with specific knowledge around data, controls management, compliance reporting, audit, business, or another relevant field
  • Self-motivated, self-directed with experience in detailed analysis and the ability to summarize issues and themes for senior stakeholders

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
