About Our Client

Our client is one of Hong Kong's largest institutions. They are developing high impact sustainability strategies, and are expanding the team tasked with creating a cohesive roadmap across all projects and disciplines.

The Role

This is a critical role, leading the strategy formation that defines their sustainability framework, and driving execution by managing a small team and influencing across a wide range of business units.

Candidates with experience in strategic sustainability development, working with, or within government departments, utility companies, institutional NGOs or large and complex corporations is required.
  • Oversee the formulation and implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy, involving the management of a cross-functional Sustainability Committee to establish a strategic framework and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate sustainability performance to provide insights for decision-making. Develop dashboards tailored to various organizational levels to track progress on sustainability goals, roadmaps, and KPIs.
  • Lead and design practical programs and roadmaps to set direction for stakeholders involved, including business functions and Subject Matter Experts
  • Establish a centralized, up-to-date data repository and enhance data management capabilities to capture information from various functions across the organization, draw insights for business decisions and best practices
  • Prioritize sustainability initiatives and establish functional ownership.
  • Align roadmaps with financial considerations and integrate them into the Integrated Business Planning processes.
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Branding teams to cultivate sustainability culture internally and externally.
  • Work closely with the External Affairs department to ensure that strategies and programs meet the needs of stakeholders and facilitate reporting through Public Affairs Integrated reporting.

Key Requirements
  • Degree holder in subjects related to sustainability, with over 15 years of experience in developing strategies, managing data, performance measurement, reporting, and corporate affairs.
  • Strong awareness in industry sustainability trends and initiatives, proficient understanding of sustainability practices in relevant sectors in sports, gambling, and hospitality.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management, including stakeholder management and influencing decisions across all organization levels.
  • Familiarity with local government regulations, requirements, and codes of practice, particularly in areas such as climate change, green building, and ESG standards.
  • Hands-on experience engaging with leadership teams to establish goals and develop roadmaps.
  • Proven track record of managing complex proprietary or standard form contracts.
  • Exceptional spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin).
