Investment Analyst

Investment Analyst  

The Investment Analyst is expected to work with the CIO on portfolio management for the client base as well as provide support to the Financial Advisor teams with client meeting preparation by delivering advice through knowledge of current portfolio holdings, available alternative products, and financial market events. This role is responsible for constructing effective and efficient portfolios using components of varied asset classes and styles.

This role is 100% in office work, in Malvern PA, 5 days a week.

Portfolio Rebalancing and Trade Execution

Conduct daily trade execution for client accounts, including portfolio construction and maintenance and the fulfillment of trade requests from the advisor teams.

Manage the portfolio rebalancing operations using Orion portfolio management software, Excel, and Custodian websites.

Evaluate portfolio reports and consider variances, risk factors, individual client concerns regarding liquidity and special circumstances such as legacy positions and taxation.

Lead process-related projects to maintain and improve operational efficiency and accuracy.

Proficiency in Excel is a prerequisite for this job. 

Investment Advisor Support

Support the FA teams with reports, investment, and portfolio recommendation information to clients and prospects. 

Answer FA questions by leveraging investment experience and deep knowledge of internally managed portfolios.

Own the monthly performance reporting process as well as reports that assist with client retention and acquisition. 

Investment Research

Work with the CIO in strategy and manager due diligence for portfolio investments and investment candidates.  Conduct calls and meetings with portfolio managers and fund wholesalers. 

Develop a deep understanding of financial terminology, economic research, and investment products. 

Working proficiency with annuities, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, fixed income, stocks, options, alternative investments, hedge funds, charitable giving practices

Education | Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or economics (or equivalent work experience)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel – ability to combine and analyze large data sets to identify solutions and drive decision making.  This is a prerequisite for the position. 

1-3 years experience with financial products.

Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize workflow and projects.  Accuracy is very important here.

Strong analytical and PC skills with problem-solving abilities—the ability to automate tasks is a plus. 

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Familiarity with Salesforce and Orion functionality
