The role combines a hands-on risk management remit (across portfolio/market/quantitative risk) + a key project management angle. You will work on key projects to automate / improve many processes that are currently sat within the market risk / front office function. The risk management remit will expose you heavily to the investment team that you face off to, whilst the project management angle will develop your programming skills, in particular Python, R and SQL. You will progress into a core risk management role. With development and success, a top performer will then have an opportunity to potentially progress into roles such as junior portfolio manager, trader or front office quant (or to develop a long-term career in senior risk management roles within the firm).
It is a pre-requisite for candidates to have top class STEM academic profiles. Candidates must also have strong coding skills in at least one language. We are open to what background a candidate comes from, assuming they have 1-5yrs experience in a risk management function that could be deemed relevant to stepping into a hedge fund front office role.
Whilst this is a junior role that would ideally pay a 60-80k base salary, my client has budget to pay up to 100k for the higher end of the experience level. Bonuses would typically be 40-60%, however top performers in the team have earned 100% bonuses in 'good years' for the fund.
