Overview

As the US Head of Alternative Investments Operations and Transformation, you will drive the execution and delivery of Technology and Business solutions for the Alternative Investments Operations portfolio, initially focused on building out the LGIMA Real Estate Equity Operations platform.  You will lead and oversee a combination of internal, consultant and vendor resources to successfully complete programs/projects and deliver solutions that range in size from small/tactical to large/global. As a Real Estate subject matter expert, utilize that knowledge and experience to influence direction, address shortfalls, implement best and industry practices, and educate stakeholders and peers.

This role will work with the Real Estate Equity program and leadership team on a variety of interrelated initiatives and assignments, with immediate focus on the US Target Operating Model (TOM) implementation. Responsible for leading the prioritization, coordination, and reporting efforts by partnering with a variety of global teams across the business including Product, Technology, Operations, Business Change and more.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in implementation planning, including identifying and coordinating efforts across global teams and dependencies
  • Proactively identify gaps in process, communication and reporting with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrate capabilities of effective management of multiple workstreams, including dependency management
  • Define and direct formal communication methods establishing open and consistent communication with stakeholders and increased visibility at the project and program level
  • Manage and direct the assessment and implementation of third-party solutions, as required
  • Leverage resources, expertise, and knowledge across functional areas to ensure attainment of goals, outcomes, and realization of benefits/business value
  • Ensure adherence to established project management methodology and governance to include project and program status reporting and RAG rating
  • Track deliverables/milestones to timeline reporting any changes in scope or delivery dates and associated impacts and risks across multiple workstreams
  • Track risks and issues leveraging a
  • RAID log, and escalate appropriately to key stakeholders
  • Forecast and track actuals and project expenditures against the allocated budget
  • Direct problem resolution, decision making and communications during all project phases
  • Identify and eliminate roadblocks in implementing products, large scale conversions, transformations, and other Change/modernization initiatives
  • Identify, assess, and manage program and project level risks that could impede successful implementation or cause operational challenges (mitigation, issue resolution, escalation)
  • Translate business and administration needs into project plans and requirement documentation in a way that is readily understandable to recipients/end users
  • Sponsor and advocate on behalf of the business, subject matter experts and stakeholders
  • Develop global relationships
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalation issues (internal/external)
  • Acts in the capacity of a Program Manager and/or Project Manager and provides oversight, guidance, instruction, and support to project resources and leadership
  • Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables working directly with the requesting teams within the firm in accordance with Business Change procedures and best practices for project execution and delivery
  • Assisting in the development and continuous refinement of the firm’s project/program management process, tools and standards
  • Arrange and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning meetings, and demonstrations/showcases
  • Foster collaboration; increase visibility; and drive efficiency through process review, evaluation and continuous improvement across the organization
  • Focus on delivery excellenceProvides input into the Real Estate/Assets roadmap (Technology, enhancements, operating models) with focus on Portfolio Management

Qualifications

We are looking for a driven, motivated, senior Program Manager who understands the Asset/Investment Management business and can excel in a fast-paced environment that has worked on large-scale programs and/or transformations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management or applicable field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8-10 years of hands-on Investment Management / Alternative Investments/ Real Estate Equity experience including managing
  • Large-scale program management experience
  • Product analyst and administration is a plus
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of system platforms and infrastructure
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills to interact with global stakeholders and management at various levels
  • Strong relationship building, negotiation, and facilitation skills
  • Expert problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills to manage people, process and programs in a complex environment
  • Strong knowledge of vendor management best practices and industry trends
  • Proven track record to execute against a defined project plan and timeline driving projects through successful implementation on time and with quality
  • Familiarity with different project management approaches like Scrum/Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall, with more recent experience with Agile concepts such as product and sprint backlogs, user stories, story points, velocity, burndown, continuous integration, test-driven development, continuous and automated testing, and the ability to break down complex problems into manageable stories
  • Vast experience and understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and common software development processes and procedures
  • Effectively partner and collaborate with global project resources (internal, consultant and vendor) with different responsibilities, experience levels and subject matter knowledge
  • Ability to relate to, interact with, and effectively work with a technical team, as well as (non-technical) individuals across various Business units within the firm
  • Very comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an entrepreneurial culture with a high level of ambiguity
  • The ability to think both critically and strategically with a vision toward the future will be paramount in this role

  • The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with all levels of the business, including executive managers
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint is a plus
  • Prior experience with standing up steering committees; chairing the discussions; developing materials/MI; and reporting on metrics and the status of the program/project
