AVP - Leveraged Finance Origination

Credit: Drafting initial sections of credit memos and preliminary analysis, performing specific financial analysis, establishing, preparing, and reviewing financial models under the guidance of VP originators. May be tasked with specific sections of credit memos under supervision. Assisting in preparing syndication materials as required. Conducting ad hoc research and analysis as needed.

Structuring: Incorporating agreed-upon structuring points in credit memos and models as instructed. Preliminary assessment of high-level term sheets.

Execution: Inputting and preparing key internal systems, preparing materials, identifying and resolving issues during the internal closing process (e.g., KYC, operations, agency, etc.). Discussing closing matters and reaching agreements on internal documentation/forms.

Marketing: Contributing to the creation of marketing pitches and materials for senior originators. Participating in marketing meetings and contributing as necessary. Initial development of a network at the junior level within the leveraged finance and private equity market. Providing clients with information on the banks products and services, including investment products.

Financial Services

1. Credit - Proficient understanding and capability in conducting advanced financial analysis and modelling using Excel. Sound comprehension of core financial statements and accounting principles, solid grasp of essential corporate finance tools (e.g., valuation, DCF, scenario analysis), and company analysis (e.g., five forces, SWOT). Competent in articulating thoughts within the deal team. Maintains a high degree of precision and can validate their own work. Works effectively under stringent time constraints.
2. Structuring - Fundamental knowledge of common term sheet elements (e.g., leverage, ranking, margins, covenants).
3. Execution - Competent in accurately managing sections of the closing process in line with established processes, liaising with internal stakeholders, and flagging issues to the line manager. Proficient at swiftly establishing a peer network with internal departments.
4. Marketing - Accurate preparation of marketing materials using Excel and PowerPoint.
5. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree level, higher-level financial qualifications (e.g., accountancy, CFA) - preferred but not mandatory.
