PI Financials’ Discretionary Portfolio Management and Strategy division is responsible for: Managing our in-house discretionary portfolios (SMA); supporting our investment professionals with a range of insightful and informative investment reports; and assisting the Managing Director with the supervision of internal portfolio managers.
Our portfolio management team currently manages 8 discretionary SMA portfolios using a quantitative/fundamental/technical based investment methodology. Model portfolio strategies including: Balanced, Dividend Growth, Canadian large cap equity growth, US growth and ETF portfolios.
Opportunity – Associate, Portfolio Analyst and Strategist
We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated intermediate level, Associate, Portfolio Analyst and Strategist to become a critical member of our portfolio management team located in our Vancouver head office.
This position offers a competitive salary, annual bonus, and monthly revenue participation.
You may currently be working in the asset management industry as an associate portfolio manager or analyst, or you are an experienced IIROC portfolio manager, or you are an equity research analyst looking for a new role as a portfolio manager where you can have a direct impact on investment decisions and benefit from the portfolio’s performance and asset growth.
You will be working directly with the lead portfolio manager and assist the team in their mission of producing superior portfolio returns. You will support the team in all aspects of the portfolio management process: developing strategy, asset and sector allocation, equity screening, analysis and selection, risk management and client services.
You will also assist in producing and presenting a range of written economic, quantitative, fundamental and portfolio strategy reports.
Skills, Education and Qualifications
• University degree(s) in finance, economics, quantitative finance
• Completion of CFA • Advanced knowledge and experience in financial statements analysis
• 5+ years’ experience in portfolio management, equity research, financial analysis
• CIRO (formally IIROC) PM registration preferred.
• Expert level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, macros, modeling
• Excellent critical-thinking, problem-solving, time management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Experience with Refinitive Eikon, Bloomberg, Dataphile Croesus, an asset
• Software programming skills (e.g. Python) an asset
