Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of FX traders, ensuring high performance, development, and adherence to trading strategies and risk management protocols.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and effective communication.
- Trading Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement trading strategies for the FX desk, including trade execution, position management, and risk assessment to optimize profitability and minimize risk.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, economic indicators, and geopolitical events to make informed trading decisions and adjustments to the trading strategies.
- Risk Management:
- Develop and enforce risk management policies and procedures to ensure prudent risk-taking and adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Monitor and evaluate trading activities to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the overall stability and resilience of the FX desk.
- FX Product Knowledge:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of FX products, including FX spot, CFDs, and a plus if familiar with NDFs and Forwards, to effectively manage trading activities and develop appropriate strategies.
- Client Relationships and Engagement:
- Collaborate with the Sales and Relationship Management teams to enhance client engagement, understand their needs, and provide tailored trading solutions and market insights.
- Engage with key clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain a strong relationship based on trust and superior service.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs for the FX desk to track trading performance, measure team efficiency, and assess the success of trading strategies.
- Prepare regular reports on trading activities, financial results, and market analysis for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in foreign exchange trading, with a proven track record of success in trading and risk management.
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience in leading and developing a team of traders.
- In-depth knowledge of FX markets, trading platforms, trading systems, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen understanding of global economic factors and geopolitical events impacting FX markets.
- Familiarity with FX products such as FX spot and CFDs; knowledge of NDFs and Forwards is a plus but not compulsory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are highly desirable.
