The firm is a registered investment advisory firm based in New York City. We manage approximately $7.5 billion of capital for our client base of high net worth families, trusts, pensions, endowments, foundations, and institutions in 46 states and 16 countries around the world. We are independently operated and have 38 associates, including 10 partners.

About The Role

We are seeking an equity research analyst to join our team of 11 portfolio managers and analysts. We are generalist investors serving a loyal and growing capital base through a long-only investment strategy with a long-term time horizon (15-20% annual turnover). We invest in individual stocks and bonds and do not have any traditional restraints around company size or investment style (value, growth, GARP, etc.). However, we only invest in stocks listed on a U.S. exchange, which may include ADRs of companies listed outside the U.S.
As part of our team, you will be responsible for supporting multiple portfolio managers in our efforts to generate new investment ideas and monitor existing portfolio companies. We hope and expect that this environment will be a great training ground for an analyst looking to refine their craft.

This role will be based in our New York City office. We currently work under a hybrid model, splitting our time between in-office and remote work, with the exact mix dependent upon the nature of each role. Over time we estimate there will be some light travel involved with this role.

Key Responsibilities

 Support our team of portfolio managers in performing in-depth fundamental analysis of companies and industries.
 Analyze financial statements, monitor company and industry trends and KPIs, study company business models and competitive dynamics, interact with company management and investor relations teams, and other activities as part of our top-down and bottoms up research process.
 Communicate research findings and investment ideas to the team through written reports, presentations and group discussions.
 Build and update financial models including valuation analyses.
 Collaborate with all team members to identify trends and learnings across companies and sectors.

Qualifications

 1-3 years of buy-side or sell-side equity research experience.
 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 Strong analytical skills including financial modeling experience.
 Must be able to absorb large amounts of information from multiple sources and distill that information into concise insights on individual stocks and sectors.
 Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
 Bachelor’s degree from a leading institution.

 Strong in Excel and familiarity with FactSet is a plus

 CFA or progress towards a CFA is a plus.
