Job Title: Senior Compliance Monitoring Officer

Location: London (Hybrid)

Contract Length: 9 months (FTC)

Opportunity Overview:
The Senior Compliance Monitoring Officer will be responsible for executing monitoring tasks against the Group Compliance Monitoring & Reporting Plan. Group Compliance Monitoring plays a critical role as the 2nd line of defense in monitoring the effectiveness of Aspens risk controls. Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the implementation and delivery of the Annual Group Compliance Monitoring & Reporting Plan
  • Assist in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of monitoring-based metrics
  • Perform monitoring tasks aligned to Aspens key Compliance Risks
  • Perform and deliver assigned assurance activities which may result in risk and control improvements for the first line.
  • Analyze trends and patterns in gaps of key compliance risks and provide feedback to compliance teams
  • Advise the first line on corrective action plans, perform independent validation as needed
  • Support the Group Head of Compliance Monitoring & Reporting with regular reporting regarding the effectiveness of the compliance control environment
  • Promote a sound culture of compliance by raising awareness of compliance matters and encouraging commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Liaise with relevant business groups in order to establish, support and maintain business relationships and organizational effectiveness
  • Support other Risk and Compliance functions as needed


Requirements & Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
  • Relevant compliance and/or re/insurance audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of the re/insurance industry within an international organization
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well within a global team and manage priorities appropriately
  • Recognize compliance or regulatory concerns that require escalation
  • Skilled at communicating compliance and regulatory issues to key stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
