About the Role

Provide the leadership, vision, strategic direction and delivery services for digitization and automation services across Group Functions covering Finance, Risk, Investment, Compliance, HR, Legal, Actuarial. This role requires providing the leadership, vision, and strategic direction for Employee Technology experience. Being responsible for building Group Platforms for Digitization and Automation for 18 Business markets for their needs. Oversee delivery of the strategic technology projects related to Employee Experience and Automation. Responsibility to agree and monitor operational financial and headcount budgets for the Solution Center.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Thought Leadership
  • Build and establish a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on digitization, process automation, technology automation for the defined technologies aligned with the Group Technology and AIA TDA and ASCEND200 vision and strategy
Delivery Accountability
  • Lead delivery of over 50-60 projects annually- including story grooming, sprint planning and implementation, and ensure that delivery teams build the product towards the defined visions, strategy and best practices
Stakeholder Management
  • Work with the Group Function leaders and BU stakeholders to influence, socialize and partner to drive adoption of digitization and automation solutions
  • Build collaborative relationships with the senior functional leaders to ensure alignment between business and IT strategies
  • Mentor leaders across Group Functions to help them succeed in automation and digitization of their processes
Technology Leadership
  • Be on the forefront of technology solution and innovation to provide best in class solution for Digitization and automation
  • Play a lead role in the Group Applications function ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive IT strategy is in place and aligned across the key pillars, and is communicated clearly to all
  • Identify and scale best practices. Disseminate best practices in a structured, repeatable way across Group Technology, Group Functions and LBUs
Platform Accountability
  • Accountable and responsible for leadership, vision, strategic direction, governance and establishment of standards for Microsoft Power Platform, UiPath Product suite and ServiceNow Platform
  • Responsible to maintain product roadmap and application strategy to meet the growing and evolving business needs over the next 3, 5 and 10 years
  • Maximise the use of current and emerging technologies
DevSecOps and SDLC Governance
  • Champion and lead adoption of DevSecOps and SDLC for Group Applications Represent Group Applications in governance forums concerning DevSecOps and SDLC
Talent Management
  • Hire, train and retain highly skilled team in Malaysia to drive delivery of the initiatives and to provide support services
  • Build a delivery team based on agreed operating model to deliver improved customer and business solutions
Innovation
  • Champion the selective launch of Proof of Concept; promote and explain technology / product concepts to AIA's leadership team; defining specific 'use cases' for potential adoption to facilitate digital integration as appropriate into the business to create measurable impact
Operational Management
  • Responsible for providing best in class support services to Applications and strive to achieve zero avoidable high severity production issues
  • maintains accurate and complete system documentation and business records
Financial Management
  • Fiscally responsible actual-to-budget expenditures, adjusting expenditure patterns/trends as needed to meet with budgeted amounts
  • Prepare, revise, finalize and submit the annual budget forecast to the Director of Applications and Finance departments on a timely basis
Vendor Management
  • Manage relationship with Product and delivery vendors to manage AIA needs and interests
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in IT or related function mandatory
  • At least 15 years of experience is mandatory in a senior multinational IT leadership role
  • Expertise experience in leading business transformation for cloud deployment, digitization, automation, employee tech experience on a global or regional capacity
  • Deep knowledge of best practices and digital innovation with practical implementation experience
  • Well versed experience in regional software / application development and delivery
  • Strong leadership, effective stakeholder management and project management skills
  • Experience managing a sub-department within a broader IT department
  • Create functional strategies and specific objectives for application management and delivery
  • Manage departmental budget, create forecasts, and react to emergent conditions
  • Expertise to seek, hire, and retain a strong, collaborative team of multicultural experts across the core application domains
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to executive business and IT leaders
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience highly desirable
  • Extensive and proven SDLC experience
  • External certification in TOGAF, Prince, ITIL certification preferred
  • Experience managing senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
