The Role: Associate Director, Environmental Product Management

Grade (relevant for internal applicants only): 12

The Location: New York, NY, Raleigh, NC, or London, UK

The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights enables organizations to create long-term, sustainable value with data and insights for a complete view on the global energy and commodities markets. The successful candidate will work in the environmental team at Commodity Insights reporting directly to Registry's Product Head. The position is to support the effort to: carry out our existing strategy for the growth of environmental assets and products; define new product growth strategies; and support the implementation of some of these products.

What's in it for you:

The position will include interaction with external clients and internal stakeholders (including technology, legal, account management, and operations teams) to support the development and implementation of our products Primary functions will include:
  • Strong knowledge of carbon markets:
    • Voluntary markets
    • Paris agreement structure (with focus Article 6)
    • Compliance market specifics (carbon tax, ETS schemes)
    • Familiarity with existing market participants and their roles
  • Support requirements gathering for existing Environmental Solutions products
  • Researching client needs across countries, exchanges, programs, market participants related to the Paris Agreement and Article 6
  • Assisting in drafting responses for RFPs an or client proposals
  • Supporting meetings with clients, particularly to provide product carbon, water and biodiversity markets
  • Drafting and / or coordinating the creation of external and internal communications
What We're Looking For:
  • Strong knowledge of carbon markets:
    • Voluntary markets
    • Paris agreement structure (with focus Article 6)
    • Compliance market specifics (carbon tax, ETS schemes)
    • Familiarity with existing market participants and their roles
  • 3+ years' professional work experience in the carbon markets preferred
  • An undergraduate and postgraduate degree in relevant subjects such as Economics, Finance, Environmental Economics, Development Economics or Environmental Sciences or relevant work experience
  • The candidate should be conscious of detail and numerically proficient with natural curiosity and an innovative approach to problem solving
  • Experience working in environmental markets (carbon, water, biodiversity and others like fuel quality or renewable energy)
  • Previous experience in supporting commercial discussions and negotiations on new products
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,800-188,600. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
